DevOps Engineer

Primary responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer include developing and managing build processes, supporting continuous integration, supporting continuous delivery (application deployment) and supporting the applications and underlying tools to transform code into running products on a daily basis. This includes working with complex configuration environments (build & test servers, virtual labs), plus generalizing tools and processes to accommodate multiple languages and architectures. This position will also work closely with the projects, production release and operations teams to establish consistent, high quality packaged builds for deployment to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies optimal testing techniques and performs necessary quality control checks to verify software installation packages work as designed.
  • Complies with software packaging quality and performance standards, and testing processes and procedures.
  • Develop and manage build and release processes and configurations to support daily software development, testing, production builds and deployment operations.
  • Contribute to the collection, development, review, and adoption of enterprise software build strategies, software branching strategies, configuration management, deployment practices and techniques.
  • Recommend, design, develop, adapt, integrate and troubleshoot tools and plug-ins to support the software configuration management (SCM) system and database.
  • Stand up, troubleshoot and maintain documentation for build servers and virtual environments.
  • Actively participate in the dissemination of build and configuration status information through formal, informal and persistent communication to program and product delivery teams and managers.
  • Contribute in implementation and adherence to continuous integration practices, including build automation, test automation, fast builds and clean build maintenance.
  • Coordinate and deliver production-ready release packages to deployment teams through a coordinated and scheduled configuration control process.
  • Directly assist teams in their setup of solutions and projects to align and enable best practices in software management, branching, merging and packaging.

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong background with either AWS or Azure cloud services
  • A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience developing and/or managing software source code
  • 3+ years’ recent experience as a build and deployment engineer using industry standard tools.
  • 5+ years’ experience setting up and configuring build servers and build agents.
  • Experience with deployment tools and virtual lab management.
  • Experience building and deploying with Linux, UNIX and Windows technologies.
  • Experience supporting and documenting build and configuration changes throughout environments.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent work experience with good scripting/programming skills.
  • Prior software experience with build management, configuration management and/or quality testing.
  • Experience with SCM practices including Agile, continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD).
  • Experience building and deploying with Java and Microsoft technologies.
  • Intermediate to advanced expertise in LINUX, UNIX, knowledge of hardware, command line tools and application programming interfaces (APIs).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a high-profile environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse cross-functional groups, including Quality, Configuration Management, Data Management, IT operations, and Project Management.

Summary
The Senior Report Developer requires at least 3+ years of experience in report development, data analysis and is proficient in SQL query writing, SSIS, and SSRS. As a Senior Report Developer, the expectation is that you will be performing data validation to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of analytic and/or operational models and reports. This role will also be required to design and automate reports for efficient and timely dissemination to the business units. Provide technical leadership and best practices in the design, development, and deployment of complex data models. The job expectations consists of the understanding of source data models, designing standardized data models within a data mart, and importing data into the data mart using SSIS best practices. Work with various company departments and projects to gather data, perform analysis, and help the business measure effectiveness. Work with and adhere to the report development framework and work with the team to make adjustments as needed to comply with development, infrastructure, and project management processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to the development lifecycle including gathering and understating of requirements, database and report development using SQL Server 2008 R2/2012
Develop stored procedures for use in analysis and reporting
Knowledge of building dashboard, scorecards, and KPI’s
Create queries to provide ad hoc reports, analysis, and datasets based on business needs
Troubles shoot data issues, validate result sets, recommend and implement process improvements Develop database views to extract data via a consistent means for ETL processes using SSIS
Analyze existing complex systems to understand and document data elements, relationships, data flow, dependencies and their related interfaces
Gather business and technical requirements, write high-quality requirements documents
Work with Infrastructure team on user access, server administration and troubleshooting reporting environment
Perform Unit testing and resolve defects
Analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical solutions

            • Applying Electronic Software Updates and tools releases

            • Building and deploying package builds
            • Designing Job queue approach, batch application administration and printer configuration
            • Experience installing and utilizing Server Manager
            • Refreshing and optimization EnterpriseOne environments
            • Familiarity with performance tuning tasks
            • Experience with EnterpriseOne installations/upgrades from small to large scale projects.
            • Database experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server and DB2/400 with regards to EnterpriseOne.
            • Expertise with supported EnterpriseOne operating systems, Linux, UNIX, AS400, and Windows.
            • Ability to work identify and debug system issues on own

              Pre-Sales Technical Architect Opportunities with Great Company

              Primarily responsible for providing pre-sales technical and other consulting services to clients.

              ·         Support sales team on proposal and solutions to customers.

              ·         Meet customers to understand user requirements, perform customer education and create solutions.

              ·         Prepare solution proposals.

              ·         Generate / verify Bill of Materials for quotations.

              ·         Assist sales in gathering 3rd party pricing and liaising with 3rd parties, if required.

              ·         Customer facing presentations and clarifications.

              ·         Support sales in tendering and bidding process.

              Requirements:

              ·         Technical knowledge in Enterprise Servers, Storage Solution, Backup and Recovery Solution, UNIX, Windows, Networking, Hardware, mission Critical- High Availability Concepts.

              ·         Ability to solution architect Storage and Server infrastructure solution.

              ·         Excellent interpersonal, presentation and conversational skills; positive in learning

              ·         Able to work independently with minimal supervision

              ·         Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor\’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent

              ·         At least 3 year(s) of working experience in Pre-Sales for system solution.

              Pre-sales architects may also be asked to attend training or perform self-study programs to pass manufacture or vendor specific certification exams that help organization meet requirements.

              Major responsibilities: (Primary accountability for specific functions and results)

              ·         Final responsibility for technical solution provided to clients.

              ·         Responsible for providing quality internal support as required.

              ·         Responsible for adhering to project methodologies when working assigned projects.

              ·         Assisting with all pre-sales activities on assigned accounts.

              ·         Responsible for admin responsibilities, including time and expense entry on weekly basis.

              ·         Must hold industry related certifications TBD by management.

              ·         Knowledge of Hitachi, EMC or IBM Storage very desirable.

              Travel: Some travel may be required, up to 25% on annual basis.

              Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent

              At least 3 year(s) of working experience in Pre-Sales for system solution.
