Direct-hire Support Technician Opportunity in Dallas, TX

3 new positions available

1) Normal business days, (Shift:  Mon-Fri, 10:30 AM to 7 PM).  Salary: $50-$53K

2) Weekend days.    Shift: Friday-Sunday, 7 am to 7 PM.

3) Weekend nights. Shift: Thurs night-Sun Morning, 7PM to 8 AM

Weekend positions details:

Salary: $50-$53K plus 10% while working nights/weekends

Work 3 x 13 hour shifts (13:20 to be exact)

Would not have “on-call” responsibilities.

Would probably work from home, after training.

 

The candidate should have:

1 year experience with Linux/Unix from the command line.

Experience with providing phone support.

Good customer service skills

Working knowledge of DNS (they should be able to name a few DNS records)

Working knowledge of networking (they should be know a few common ports and protocols)

 

Job Description:

Support Technician is responsible for assisting company’s customers with the resolution of technical service problems. This company offers e-messaging protection and transaction services that protect organizations from viruses, spam, as well as enabling secure electronic communications, such as email encryption.

 

The Support Technician duties include:

* Providing technical guidance to customers in response to service requests received over the phone or through email

* Championing and coordinating resolution of customer support issues that can’t be resolved by first line support.

* Ensuring all customer communications are professional, accurate, and timely.

* Developing technical content for inclusion in the support knowledge base.

* Utilizing support applications for problem recording and tracking.

* Rotating on-call status, with pager notification.

 

 

Required Skills/Qualifications:

* Successfully pass background investigation

* Minimum 1 year experience with Linux/Unix command line (shell)

* Experienced in direct customer communication.

* Familiar with common TCP/IP protocols and services.

* Good knowledge of various Operating Systems (Windows 7/10, Unix/Linux).

* Experience in configuration and operation of SMTP messaging systems (Exchange, Domino, Postfix)

* Strong networking knowledge (DNS, routers, firewalls, etc) and troubleshooting experience

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Excellent customer service/phone support skills

* Strong, sound decision-making skills, good judgment and problem solving skills.

* Able to respond to on-call notifications 24/7

 

Preferred skills:

* Familiar with web technology (web browsers, SSL, HTML, and XML)

* Familiar with common scripting languages (bash, perl, etc)

* First line technical support experience.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, evaluate and monitor test and learn strategies that help business to drive decisions throughout the customer lifecycle including account management, collections and re-acquisition.
    • Collaborate with 3rd Party data partners to acquire and analyze data that drives risk and marketing strategies.
    • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve offer strategies for current customers.
    • Work with internal teams to execute omni-channel approach to reacquisition, inclusive of direct mail, email, SMS, social, etc.
    • Provide analysis and insight on risk and reacquisition initiatives: strategy and campaign performance, channel contributions, attribution analysis, ROI, and performance against budget and forecast.
    • Extract, cleanse, transform and prepare data from multiple, disparate sources for use in analysis, modeling and reporting.
    • Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
    • Mentor and share knowledge with more junior analysts.

     

    Experience and Education

    • Minimum 4 year degree (Computer Science, Math, or Business Degree preferred)
    • 5+ years data analyst/modeling experience or 3+ years with Master’s Degree in Quantitative field
    • Experience extracting and manipulating data using at least three of the following database technologies Microsoft SQL Server, Large SAS Datasets, Hadoop/Hive, Impala, Access, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
    • Proven ability with at least one statistical package such as SAS, R, Python, SPSS, STATA, etc.
    • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) or similar applications.
    • Proven experience working in fast-paced environment with ever-changing demands
    • Strong communication skills
    • Experience in financial services, risk management, or target marketing a plus

        Our Client is looking for a JD Edwards Programmer Analyst knowledgeable in a large JDE Development Environment. This is an exciting career advancement position where the Developer will be responsible for providing technical solutions to business challenges. You will interact with the Functional analysts, and the business leaders to design, develop and help implement the solutions that extend the basic JDE functionality in a supportive company environment.

        Responsibilities

        *Managing and maintaining various, complex production and non-production databases.

        * Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.

        * Optimizing database access and allocating/re-allocating database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.

        * Installing, upgrading, refreshing and maintaining all database environments.

        * Responsible for the day to day database administrative tasks, such as: proactive monitoring, error checking, performance tuning, trouble-shooting, back-up and recovery.

        * Collaborating with project teams to set up database, DB interface, and production set-up and configuration.

        * Managing user security and access to databases to provide controlled access environment.

        * Investigating, reviewing, applying and testing all patches and bug fixes in the database environment and providing consultation on patch management, custom interface design and operational implementation.

        * Interacting with developers and programmers in order to design/review programs, custom interfaces and queries according to standards.

        * Utilizing data management tools such as SSIS, SSAS, DTS, and SSRS

        * Will be required to be on an on-call rotation

        Qualifications

        * Bachelor’s degree preferred.

        Sr Desktop Engineer

        Required Experience

        · Intimately knows the insides of Windows client platforms (XP, Win7)

        · Must at least know how to script with VBScript

        · Experience with a variety of client management tools in order to make educated recommendations (Ie, Antivirus, Patch Management, etc)

        · Experience with OS deployment methods such as sysprep, ghosting, unattended install, etc

        · Must be able to work with IT architects, support staff, server & network engineering, DBAs and developers in order to solve complex problems that span multiple disciplines as well as lead projects or architect client solutions that require support from multiple teams.

        · Must know how to do basic SQL queries

        Preferred Experience

        · Programming experience such as with VB.NET, C#, etc

        · Intermediate to Advanced SQL query experience

        · Experience with MDT imaging technologies

        · Experience working with locked down end points such as public facing systems (kiosks, library systems, digital signage, etc)

        · Experience designing and implementing client solutions that meet regulatory requirements such as SOX, PCI, etc.

        · Administration experience in products that GameStop employs today (Remoteware, BigFix, MDT, EPO/AntiVirus, Service Desk Express)

        · MCSE with at least an educational knowledge of Server technologies if not working experience
