Direct-hire Project Manager Opportunity with Great Company in Dallas, TX

 

SUMMARY

Person need to be driving the projects and pushing for the delivery of the needs. Must be a people person and strong at building relationships.

They have infrastructure projects that are around compliance such as PCI. Must have some experience in this. Most of the project will be app dev but they do have some in this area.

Project size are small to medium. Anywhere from 100K to a little over a million. Will also be doing maintenance on projects.

Need to be able to handle 2 projects at once.

Be able to work with outside vendors and have that experience.

Need to own their projects.

Will be working with the PMO on the business side as well

There will be weekly stake holder meetings and must be able to communicate to team and executives for status reports.

Most of the work will be in Waterfall but some interview software projects are in agile. Will need experience with both.

 

Job Description: The Project Manager must work effectively in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment. Business needs and aggressive growth drive the need for effective communication and on-time project delivery. The primary focus of this position is to drive program and project strategy, deliver promised functionality, and ensure efforts remain on task, on schedule and on budget.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects and/or programs from inception to delivery using standard project management / SDLC protocols
  • Perform Project and Program Management budget estimation for all internal and external project resources
  • Create detailed project delivery and project implementation plans and execute projects according to plan
  • Use Project Management tools for optimal financial roll-up, time tracking and milestone management
  • Provide advice and consultation to Business Analysts and other project members on more difficult and complex assignments
  • Liaise and effectively manage communications between the user community, IT department, and all business units, project participants, and vendors internal / external to the firm
  • Report on status, risk mitigation, progress, etc. to senior management and project stakeholders
  • Actively participate in IT design reviews to ensure compatibility and interoperability of computing systems
  • Provide knowledge and expertise to assist in the development of project management principals and best practices
  • Ensure project deliverables are on time, within budget and are at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate outcome of the project as defined during the planning stage

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required at a minimum
  • Minimum of 10 years of IT delivery experience, 5-7 years in a project management role
  • Experience managing projects in both waterfall and agile software development methodologies
  • Previous experience or exposure to program, portfolio management or project management office processes
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Energy / Utility experience and a variety of IT project experience including IT infrastructure is a plus
  • Proficient understanding and expert-level knowledge of Microsoft suite products, Project Server software and related methodologies(Currently using Microsoft Project, Project Server and Sharepoint for the Portfolio Management)
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, modeling, verification and methodology development
  • Working knowledge of any SQL-based query language (not mandatory but a high level understanding)
  • Strong knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Experience working with both SAS and on premise technologies (not a must)

Work Conditions

  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
  • Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings
  • Some travel may be required

Gov. Rick Perry Has announced $2.45 million in state incentives for a high-tech company to establish its headquarters in Richardson.

Perry announced the Texas Enterprise Fund investment for The Virtual Computing Environment Co. at the Richardson Chamber of Commerce annual meeting on Tuesday.

The project is expected to create “434 high-paying jobs and generate an estimated $35 million in capital investment,” according to a press release from the Richardson chamber.

Direct-hire Sr Desktop Engineer Opportunity with a Great Company in Grapevine, TX

SUMMARY
The Desktop Engineer is responsible for the architecture, implementation, management, and support of desktop platforms and connected systems. This position responds to escalated support requests that require an expert level of experience for troubleshooting and/or resolution, and works on a variety of projects including: software deployments, new platform research, reporting, and architecting new processes related to the platform. The Desktop Engineer works under general supervision to ensure the stability of the platform and minimize the downtime of the platforms used by all users.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·
Resolve escalated incidents efficiently to minimize down time, and provide support documentation to front line support in order to reduce the number of escalated incidents.

· Initiate escalation of severe service problems as appropriate with vendors or other organizational groups and ensure management and Help Desk remain informed until the problem is resolved.

· Manage day-to-day and project tasks including Patch Management, Software Packaging and Distribution, maintaining OS deployment processes, process automation and ad-hoc reporting.

· Ensure proper compliance with Sarbanes – Oxley and PCI regulations in order to pass audits.

· Ensure adequate training and documentation is provided to customers (other IT groups and business units) on solutions provided to empower them to maximize the solution’s value and reduce incidents.

· Partner with other IT groups or business units to identify platform design requirements, support processes and software requirements.

· Architect and implement solutions and processes for client systems that minimize support costs and maximize up-time and customer productivity.

· Work with software and hardware vendors to identify and implement solutions for use and integration into production, test, and QA systems to meet business needs, reduce costs, reduce incidents, and increase productivity.

· Continually identify opportunities for process improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

· Satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; keeps up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise.

· High School Diploma or GED required

· At least 3 years of IT support experience in a Windows 2000, XP, Win7 environment consisting of 300+ workstations required

· Must be able and willing to work additional hours and weekends as business needs require

· Must be able to participate in a rotating “on-call” rotation and accept calls after hours and on weekends

· Microsoft Certification in at least one area related to the position such as MCSE or MSDST preferred

· Must know scripting and at least 1 programming language (VB6, C#  or VB.net preferred)

· Demonstrated customer service expert with the ability to interact with all levels of users from front line to executive

· Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities

· Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English

· Proficient knowledge of scripting using VBScript

· Proficient knowledge of Application and OS patching methods

· Demonstrated ability to take ownership of an issue and follow it through to resolution

· Proficient knowledge of performing SQL queries

· Proficient with technical writing with the ability to create and maintain documentation of support instructions and processes

· Proficient in reading and comprehending printed data/information in software manuals and documents, and data/information displayed on a PC monitor.

· Proficient in recognizing discrepancies in written/recorded data/information.

· Working knowledge of Operating System deployment methods

· Working knowledge of Software packaging and deployment methods

· Working knowledge of coding and compiling executables using tools such as Visual Basic, C++, C# or an equivalent preferred

· Working knowledge of how to build web interfaces using HTML, ASP, ASP.NET or an equivalent preferred

· Working ability to support one or more of the following products; McAfee ePO/AntiVirus, PGP, Remoteware, Service Desk Express, BigFix, Tivoli preferred

· Working knowledge of WMI and other low level Microsoft technologies to remotely manage client systems preferred

· Experience as a Remoteware Administrator highly preferred.

POSITION SCOPE: We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to assist with the implementation, maintenance and daily operations of our Microsoft Windows Server Infrastructure. The successful candidate will have extensive Microsoft Windows and VMware Server experience in a large enterprise environment.

Experience creating file systems from San Raid Groups

Experience with enterprise level backup systems

Experience with server monitoring and tuning utilities

Ability to conceptualize alternative approaches to problem resolution

Ability to adjust, sort and distinguish priorities

Ability to take ownership of an assignment through to completion

Web Developer – (6 months initially, potential to go perm)

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for development of complex, multi-tiered, scalable applications in a web environment. This

group is responsible for development of business solutions for Internet / Intranet applications using

key technologies, such as SQL Server, Visual Studio 2010, HTML, CSS, Web Services, ASP.Net. We seek to hire driven and talented

individuals for our team.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Developer Role/Duties:

Works with Business Analysts, Clients, and Quality Assurance Analysts to fully understand requirements and business processes.

Incorporates Software Development Life Cycle standards in all work products.

Enhances existing code, production support changes, and new development, as assigned.

Works with business analyst and other development team members to modify existing and design new database tables, stored procedures and triggers as necessary to provide application efficiencies.

Identifies and develops background processes necessary to provide support for interfaces with other systems.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

BS, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Seeking a candidate with 4-7 years of experience.

JOB RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

Required skills: Visual Studio 2010, Web Services, ASP.NET membership security, HTML, XML, SQL Server, Classic ASP, VB

Excellent analytical, coding, and testing skills.

Ability to quickly and accurately perform troubleshooting and repair of applications

Interest in enhancing skills and learning new technologies

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to handle multiple assignments

Experience with the full systems development lifecycle, covering requirements, design, development, testing and delivery of n-tier architecture

JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Ability to work with other Developers, Database Administrators, Quality Assurance Analysts, and Business Analysts in resolving issues and identifying and correcting problems.

Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to communicate technical issues, understand business and process requirements, and provide interactive demonstrations to client

groups and team members.

Attention to detail, reliability, consistency, initiative / dedication are essential.

Team fit is critical, we look for; a positive can do attitude, a fun spirit, someone who is strong technically, comfortable with saying they don’t know the answer, and open / eager to learn from others.
