This individual will be a key technical resource in our efforts to maintain the virtualized environment and its primary application from a large UNIX system to a distributed Linux environment. He or she will provide technical and architectural support to the application development team during and after the current migration project of key applications to Linux.

 

The Engineer will also identify and address gaps in tool-sets and environment that would delay the completion of the migration process and areas of improvement to increase the overall sysadmin efficiency.

 

Job Responsibilities:

●    Overall support growth and management of technical infrastructure for a 24×7 operation.

●    Develop and maintain high availability and disaster recovery plans/processes for all services.

●    Effectively triage and troubleshoot for a complex environment.

●    Resolve critical system issues on a 24×7 basis including notification and coordination with individuals from various functional groups.

This position is responsible for developing sales opportunities, working with end-user prospects to develop solutions to fulfill their IT needs for their particular organization.  As necessary, must work closely with manufacturer sales reps and assist marketing in driving attendance to local events.  Must be responsible for developing relationships and appropriate pipeline to achieve required results.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Tier 2 / Field Tech / Systems Administrator with the drive and determination to help us support our midsized Microsoft based networks, systems and servers in both Dallas and Ft. Worth offices. Individuals will provide network administration for Windows Server 2008R2 / 2012 based systems and Windows 7/8/8.1 user environment desktop support.  Provide support for Active Directory and Office 365. Provide support of LAN, MS domain and related services.  Will support switches and router infrastructure under the direction of senior techs.  VMware / Hyper V experience is a plus.  Will be required to resolve production issues and troubleshoot problems.  Responsible for administration and support of remote systems, applications, and users.  Will be required to write documentation in support of infrastructure.  Greater North Dallas local area travel with remainder of time worked from home-office and West Plano office.  Mileage reimbursed.

 

Current role 70% desktop support with some project work and growth opportunity to Tier 3 / Sr. Network Admin and Project work.  MSP / Managed Services with Connectwise PSA and Kaseya/Labtech RMM experience is a huge plus.
