Contract-to-hire Senior QA Engineer Opportunity With Great Company in Dallas, TX

Originally an internal group within an integrated architecture and construction firm, our client’s company is a uniquely positioned software company creating technologies to improve the early decision making process in preconstruction.

               

Our client specializes in easy to create 3D models that interact with a SQL database backend and perform a number of engineering calculations. Their software covers a broad spectrum of technologies where a high level of quality is imperative. 

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining product test plans and testing strategies.  This position is also responsible for testing our products using an existing suite of 2500+ automated and manual tests, and ensuring tests are up to date with product changes.

Work is conducted primarily during daytime hours (8-5 CST). 

Skills/Qualifications:

·   Become proficient in product usage enough to be able to pass base and intermediate training class tests within 2 months.

·   Within 2 months be able to run and update automated tests in our existing suite of automated tests using HP’s Functional Test / Quick Test Professional (QTP)

·   Manage 1 – 2 software engineering interns and effectively utilize them to test products

·   Have a formal testing process documented within 4 months

·   Must be very proficient in using automated functional testing software.

·   Knowledge in VBScript and HP’s Functional Test (formerly QTP) a plus
