Job Tips and Job News – Texas added 32,500 jobs in April

Keeping its status as one of the states least impacted by the recession, Texas added 32,500 jobs in the month of April, the Texas Workforce Commission said Friday.
Since the beginning of 2010, the Lone Star State has produced 79,000 jobs, TWC said. Overall, Texas has 11.2 million employed workers after the first five months of the new year.
However, even with new jobs in the pipeline, the state’s unemployment rate grew a percentage point in April, reaching 8.3 percent, compared to 8.2 percent in March.
However, the state still trends below the national unemployment rate of 9.9 percent.
