Windows Server Engineer

Description:

Our Dallas client needs a Windows server person that has the ability to understand remediating Windows security vulnerabilities and coordinate with our information security department on their findings.

The person must have great communication skills and have the insight to understand not just how to make the changes (that’s a given), but also what the potential impact would be to the environment and determine or communicate the risks / rewards.

In other words, is it worth it or not.  Security runs their pen tests, they give us the report with the expectation to “go fix everything”.

This person would review the CVE’s that include the Windows specific info, discuss with ops the relevance of making the changes and what it could possibly break (or not).

We would put in the change tickets and implement.

As a Sr. Windows Engineer, they of course should know Group Policy and some flavor of scripting would be good.  Rinse and repeat until finished.

Will perform Windows updates that are security related

Security will do vulnerable test and give manager the list to fix everything

Must know Windows Server Operating system to know that everything on the list can’t be remediated because it might break something else

Collaborating with the team and security and document everything.

Enterprise Environment must know cause and effect

Must be able to do patching and understand if certain things are done it could break other things

Must be Sr level to understand what needs to be fixed based on Group policies, scripting, deployment services

Must have enterprise level experience

Discuss what the impact is of changes

Risk remediation
