Contract BI Report Developer II Opportunity in Dallas, TX
POSITION SCOPE: Responsible for evaluating business intelligence (BI) reporting requirements for various business units across the organization and implementing them through the existing BI architecture and reporting tools. Must possess specialized knowledge for reporting tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, SAP Business Objects, Teradata technologies, etc.) to develop advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics as required. Works closely with key business leaders to define critical information needs, providing guidance regarding availability of data, capability of systems to deliver information needs, and subject matter expertise regarding current systems and emerging technology. Leads the research, evaluation and selection of new technologies. Leads cost and feasibility studies. Works to optimize performance of BI reports, working with Database Administrators, Data Architects, and other technical staff as needed.
Job Requirements: Expertise with business intelligence reporting tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, SAP Business Objects, Teradata technologies, etc.) Strong team player with willingness to collaborate Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong capability to execute tasks with quality
Experience: 5 or more years of work experience 5 or more years of work experience in IT, including at least two years of experience in a BI report development role 4+ years experience building reports working with data in Teradata version 12, or SAP Business Warehouse experience with release 3.5 or higher preferred Completion of Business Objects or MicroStrategy courses would be a plus
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required (computer science, information systems, business administration or other industry related curriculum)
Core Skills: Food and beverage industry experience required Proficient oral and written communication skills Good time management skills (i.e. works efficiently) Strong attention to detail Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently Proven ability to mentor and transfer knowledge to other team members Ability to analyze and solve problems Ability to work with customers to understand business requirements and to translate them into IT solutions that meet business needs Demonstrated understanding and experience across multiple business functions and technologies Knowledge and experience in IT processes necessary for analyzing, designing, and developing complex IT solutions Deep experience with report writing and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling Exposure to the operation and analysis of relational database software and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies Practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts Knowledge of current Software Development Life Cycle methodologies Strong conceptualization, analytical, and logic skills Proven ability to interpret and develop highly complex technical specifications, data models, messaging, and database schemas
Specialized Skills and Technologies: Experience with an established data modeling toolset, ETL technologies, and report or portal dashboards, with Teradata, Informatica, MicroStrategy, and SAP skills preferred Experience with SQL queries working on data in tables, cubes, or views, and experience with Business Objects or MicroStrategy required Experience with integration to Teradata data models/nodes preferred Experience in performance tuning of reports is a plus Experience with various SAP modules and ABAP is beneficial

2. TERM: a. The contract shall be in effect until 12/31/2011. The services outlined will commence immediately after completion of negotiations and award of contract.
