Senior Quality Assurance Analyst – Contractor

Overview

As a member of the client team, Benefits Division, you will have the opportunity to help insurance brokers, and employers and their employees, by working on solutions that make the entire process easier, faster and more connected for brokers, small and medium sized businesses and their employees, giving them tools to stay competitive without adding to their day to day effort.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Be a true team player, be kind, radically candid and be willing to help out

· Collaborate and communicate with teams from development, project management, and SMEs in active design, implementation and testing

· Learn and represent client needs, partaking in active discussions, understand their needs and producing effective testing patterns that are complaint with company best practices and standards.

· Safeguard the client, protecting their data and their business as a priority.

· Embrace a Lean methodology and an agile mindset, reducing risk, waste, in short iterations, with incremental planning on small teams that are continuously learning enough to deliver self-documented solutions

· Be accountable to commitments made to the team and leadership, setting and achieving milestones and goals

· Be responsible for success, taking ownership and pride in the active work, bringing in fresh ideas, investing in growing yourself, team members, product, and the company by collaboration and sharing.

· Create strategies and process for other QA team members to ensure methodological successful delivery that conform to up-to-date testing trends and our standard practices.

· Ensure Product Quality by creating and validating manual and functional testing that considers business needs, acceptance criteria and provides a fluid experience for our end users.

· Produce Elegant Tests by creating clear, concise detail-oriented test plans/ cases.

Required Qualifications

· BS or BA degree or equivalent experience.

· 5+ years of web-centric QA technical experience.

· 3 + years working experience with release and project management systems

· 3+ years working with mid-sized to large systems is highly preferred.

· Working experience with web technologies (Html, CSS, browser DOM) , SQL , and restful APIs

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a detail oriented, critical eye

· Ability to creatively solution a problem, reviewing requirement documents and translate to test cases

Additional Qualifications

· Experience using scripted solutions (Selenium) or application platforms (Microsoft Test Manager)

· Experience testing 3^rd party integration and API endpoints; the seams of our application

· Experience with Azure DevOps \VSTS \ TFS

The biggest things we are looking for are eCommerce experience where they have worked on a customer-facing website with a shopping cart (essential), retail experience (preferred), and both functional and technical work. The salary range is $90-100k base after the contract period.

SUMMARY
Demonstrates depth and breadth of business analysis process, techniques and methodologies. Contributes to application design by defining needs and recommending solutions that will maximize the value delivered by the system to stakeholders. Determines how the project they are assigned to impacts other projects or business areas. Ensures project meets the strategic goals/initiatives of the organization. Influences, persuades, and leads other team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.

Research, design, create, document, implement, maintain and support systems that support the company’s customer and internal user needs.
Leads and facilitates interviews and cross-functional working sessions to elicit requirements with the Product Owner, Functional BA and other business stakeholders to elicit and clearly define requirements.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstract up from low level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from underlying true needs.
Converts business requirements into functional and software/technical requirements.
Captures non-functional and other system requirements (e.g., supported browsers, security, system performance expectations, etc.).
Produces deliverables as needed: (e.g., software requirements documents, use cases, use case diagrams, wireframes, workflow diagrams, process diagrams, and detailed user stories).
Provides significant input to system specifications and design.
Develops detailed knowledge/expertise in applications assigned. Analyzes system integration impacts and define integration requirements.
Collaborates with developers to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
Attends demos and review completed sprint development for accuracy.
Reviews detailed requirements with project manager/technical lead to ensure adherence to scope and level of effort estimations.
Estimates requirements gathering level of effort, develops business analysis work plans, and ensures BA deliverables quality and timeliness.
Coordinates with Quality Assurance (QA) and the development team to ensure requirements are understood.
Participates in and/or coordinates required testing/validation of system fixes, which may include creating the actual test cases or reviewing test cases created by QA.
Supports User Acceptance Testing.
Serves as the key IT counterpart to the Product Owner or Functional BA jointly responsible for understanding, prioritizing, & defining continuous improvement requests.
Performs problem determination and resolution as part of system production support.
Acts as the business analyst team lead on larger projects and initiatives.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.
Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner; escalate and retain ownership of all open/unresolved issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Computer Science or business related degrees preferred.
Five (5) to seven (7) years working as a business analyst on application development projects
Experience with waterfall and agile software development methodologies.
Experience with more than one (1 ) business domain.
Experience supporting both enhancement/support projects as well as new development projects
One (1) to three (3) years of functional expertise/experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have strong PC skills and advanced working knowledge with Microsoft Office products, SharePoint and experience with requirements tracking software.
